Sunday, May 5th, 2013Although this was a wedding in beginning of Autumn it was a hot day – Paarl never dissapoints with its temperature difference! I first met Lorraine and Pieter – very briefly as guests at a wedding in Langebaan (Juan and Wilna) and not shortly after Pieter and Lorraine got engaged I received an email from her about her wedding! Lorraine looked like a dream in the dress which was lovingly made by Juanri – a very talented lady! Pieter was in tears when Lorraine met him at the front of the church. Lorraine is full of fun, has a stunning smile and I know she will brighten every day of their lives together. Pieter is a lucky and blessed man! They are stunning and love exudes from them the whole time. It was a overcast day in Stellenbosch and I was a bit worried that it would rain but luckily the Lord provided beautiful light and sunshine. Estelle looked breathtaking in her dress and the wedding was full of autumn colours. This having been my first wedding at Nooitgedacht – I can say that wow this is a beautiful venue! Johan & Rehanie | De Malle Meul, Philadelphia | 27 April 2013
Monday, April 29th, 2013This was such a wonderful wedding and we had the loveliest weather – blue skies filled with clouds made into patterns. It was as if God took a paint brush and specially painted the sky for Johan & Rehanie. The theme of the wedding was orange and it was in Rehanie’s hair in the form of a ribbon, on her wedding dress (lovingly made by her mother-in-law Magda), in the tuille of the dress, the flowers, the mens ties and the wedding party. The ceremony was held upstairs at De Malle Meul in the chapel and the reception downstairs. They could not have chosen a more perfect venue because it is so intimate and beautiful inside! Philadelphia itself is so cute and I reccommend that anyone that has a Saturday free should go visit there. De Malle Meul also is a running restuarant with lovely interiors. I loved the atmosphere and photographing the small children, but most of all Johan & Rehanie. Rehanie is the kindest most endearing bride – she is such a joy to have as a client! Lario & Daan | Olive Rock, Tulbagh | 6 April 2013
Wednesday, April 17th, 2013This was a truly wonderful way to start April off! Such a special wedding and two very special people. When I look at the photos of Lario – I get so happy because she is a joy to be around. Her smile is infectious The ceremony was held on Daan’s farm in Tulbagh under the trees where bunting was flapping in the wind. For the couple shoot we started off in a very special place – the place where Daan asked Lario to marry him. This spot overlooks the whole Tulbagh valley and it is truly spectaular. Then we proceeded with a bumpy bakkie ride down the hill (a bakkie lovingly lent to them for this bumpy ride by friends) to photograph the rest of the photos at the neighbouring farm. I loved how Lario giggled because Daan is really funny but it also shows how they enjoy each other. Geniet dit om getroud te wees – dit is regtig ‘n fees en ek weet die Here geniet julle baie. Julle is ‘n baie mooi paartjie xx

Wednesday, April 17th, 2013From last year you will remember Jaycee & Simone and their couple shoot in June and they are a very much in love. Like their couple shoot their wedding had purple in what they wore and the in the decor. The wind on their wedding day was extremely powerful! So in the photos if you see unruly hair – it is because the wind was quite forceful. I could see the goosepimples on Simone’s arms as I was editing their couple shoot and I am very proud of them for getting through the shoot. Once inside the venue it was nice and warm. The party got started and everyone had a ball!
Retief & Luande | Langverwagt | 23 March 2013
Monday, March 25th, 2013I am sure there have been a lot of people visiting the blog watching and waiting for this wedding to appear and now finally it is here! The reason why it took longer than usual (my usual editing time is less than 2 weeks) is because I had two weddings, two days before this wedding. This wedding was really special! Not only was my sister a bridesmaid at this wedding but I also know Luande. The first time I met Luande was at sel and we were both moaning about silly guys. Now look at us today – I am happily married to the wonderful Dirk and Luande married the awesome Retief who literally could not take his eyes off her when she stood next to him during the ceremony. They match each other exquisitely Luande had the perfect form fitting dress for the special day and we were blessed with perfect weather. Before I started Luande’s bridal shoot Leigh gave the pendant from Retief which she wore around her neck – as seen in the photos. It rounded her off perfectly. A lot of prayer went into the day and of course Luande had the best team of bridemaids (one of them also Rochelle – also on the blog who got married in January)! A funny part of the day was when I almost fell into the pond (as seen in photos) during the confetti. Thanks to two guests I was saved! Luande and Retief surprised the guests with a special entrance into the reception area to start the evening off. There was a lot of laughter and endearing speeches. Dale & Ursula | Allee Bleue | 22 March 2013
Monday, March 25th, 2013The day started early at Allee Bleue, bridesmaids were running around making sure everything was perfect while Ursula calmly sat and had her hair done (she had worked very hard and gone to bed very late many evenings before the big day). I popped in to see where she was getting dressed and she looked calm and radiant – the way every bride should look. They had a morning ceremony where Dale was emotional when he saw Ursula and it just showed how much he treasures her. The ceremony was followed by a picnic under the oak trees. Picnic baskets were supplied to the guests and it was a wonderful, relaxed reception filled with joy and much laughter. I can’t believe that a year ago I was sitting on the couch at my house talking to Dale & Ursula about their wedding day! And here is their wedding! Ursula really put a lot of thought into each element of the day and I was so excited to see how her dress had been personalized with blue in the petti coat! They really are a fabulous couple, loved by their friends and who enjoy life to the fullest! Thank you for making me your wedding photographer – I had lots of fun and it was an honour! xx
Renaldo & Yvette | Bloemendal, Durbanville | 21 March 2013
Monday, March 25th, 2013Recently I photographed this lovely couples engagement shoot and now I have had the priveledge of photographing their wedding! It was a beautiful day in Durbanville, the views surrounding the venue are unique and Renaldo & Yvette are two very amazing people.
